RULE 13

In the past, the Winter League has been sponsored by the LTA, and their rules stated that you could only play for one team in a season, ie you could not play up or down. Although the LTA withdrew from the Winter League, this rule was kept as it made running the League much easier. As those who play in the [summer] NE Cheshire League will know, allowing people to play for a higher team involves a lot of monitoring and time, and no one has ever volunteered to do that monitoring for the Winter League. So the "only play for one team rule" has had to exist.

There were though requests for "relaxation" or "variation" of the rule. Having thought about it, the League  introduced a change which is now:

"Rule 13. A person may play ONCE for ONE higher team during the season.

In case it helps in the understanding of the rule, some examples are given below. If there are any queries ask the League administrator in ADVANCE of a match. If you ask after the match, it will be too late if that person is then found to be ineligible. The rule is as above, and HAS BEEN and WILL be enforced accordingly.
